The Pinwheel of Castel Sant'Angelo
Monday, June 29, 2015 at 21.30 for the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, patrons of Rome, will take place the usual fireworks show “Pinwheel of Castel Sant'Angelo“.
The pinwheel, fireworks studied in the drawings by Michelangelo Buonarroti and perfected by the Bernini, was introduced in Rome in 1481 to celebrate the pontifical of Pope Sixtus IV and later was used to celebrate the major holidays of the year; the Eternal City for the event attracted spectators from all over Europe.
The audience can enjoy the magnificent sight to Lungotevere Tor di Nona, Lungotevere Altoviti, Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, Ponte Principe Amedeo Savoia Aosta, Ponte Umberto I e Via Banco Spirito.
